NFL Week 9 Openings

Green Bay

Week 8 of the NFL season is in the books and the NFL odds for Week 9 have opened with some steady movement in multiple markets. Find out which ones might move more, or which ones may still have value.

Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers

Coming off their bye week, the Packers have lost two of their last three games, including last week to the Vikings. However, now on a short week, as weird as it is to say, this is a get right game for Green Bay. Not only have the Niners lost a ton due to injury, their starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo and starting tight end, George Kittle are in danger of missing the rest of the season. Already down their best running back, and on a short week, the books are giving the Niners +4 points, which is up sharply from where it opened. Steam is continuing to hit the Packers too, as some shops are up to -4½ as of Tuesday morning.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills

A battle between two six-win teams kicks off the Sunday slate with a total of seven games in the early Sunday time slot and this one may be the best of the bunch. NFL odds makers have the Bills as +3 underdogs and the steam has caught the road favorites a lot in this one. The books opened Buffalo as a +1 home dog. The total for this one sits at 54 points.

Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons

On the surface, this game may not bring much interest, but both of these teams are quickly digging out of holes they made for themselves in the first month and could hold some value. The Falcons have won two of their last three SU and ATS, while the Broncos have won three of their last four SU and covered five of their seven games. The odds for this one haven’t moved much though, favoring the Falcons at -4, with a total of 50 points.
